Many libertarian minded folks tend to bounce back and forth between the Republican Party and the Libertarian Party. The Republican Party, being part of the two-party duopoly, has money and resources, so those libertarians running for office decide to run as a Republican to get ballot access, money, and resources needed to seek office, especially at the federal level.
That is also a more anti-Democrat Party sentiment due to their big government polices, high taxation, and anti-Second Amendment rhetoric. But, what happens when the Republican Party shifts toward supporting government to silence rivals, the media, and anyone who disagrees with their policies?
It was Donald Trump that started the lockdowns after COVID, did massive bailouts that sunk our nation in debt, and caused the inflation crisis that hurt the middle class. Overall Donald Trump added trillions to the national debt. More than Obama, both Bushes, and Clinton combined.
When is it enough? Libertarian minded people must call Trump what he is a big spender and someone that will use government to get what he wants. He is running for another term and libertarians like Thomas Massie and Rand Paul are falling in line again.
